Why I Closed A Successful Business...

I’ve never had an adult job…
I know it sounds crazy right? The only official job I’ve had upon graduating college with a 4-year Bachelors Degree was 1 year I worked as a Media Assistant at the local elementary school. The catch is that the rest of my adult life until now, at 31 years old, was spent running my own photography and videography business. And just earlier this year, I made the very big and scary decision to close it.
When I felt like it was time and I built up enough courage, I posted the announcement on my Instagram page and to my email newsletter subscribers. I got so much love, support and kind words - what an honor after putting so much heart into the work for 8 years. But I also got a handful of responses from other friends in the wedding industry that wanted to hear more: “Why did I want to close? What was next? How am I financially able?” I promised answers to come in a longer written piece, since everything felt so complex that it required a well thought out response. This is that response…
